  1. Get 1 kg Katla fish
  2. Make ready 1 piece onion finely chopped
  3. Make ready 4 pieces onion paste
  4. Prepare 50 gm ginger paste
  5. Take 50 gm garlic paste
  6. Make ready 6 pieces chilli paste
  7. Prepare 50 gm dried melon seed paste or char magaz paste
  8. Prepare 100 gm mustard seed paste
  9. Make ready 1 piece tomato, cut into small pieces
  10. Get 1/2 tsp Cumin seed
  11. Prepare 2 bay leaf or tejpata
  12. Take 2 dried chilli
  13. Prepare Wholespices like elaichi, dalchini
  14. Make ready 100 gm curd
  15. Take as needed Mustard oil
  16. Take 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  17. Get 1 tsp garam masala powder

Steps to make Biye Bari style Katla Kalia:
  1. In a bowl add turmeric, cumin, coriander, chilli and Kashmiri chilli powder with some hot water and make a thick paste.
  2. Wash fish pieces and marinated them with turmeric and salt. Heat pan, add mustard oil
  3. Fry the fish pieces.
  4. Then in the exes oil saute the whole spices,cumin,tejpata and dried chilli.
  5. Then fry the chopped onion, till it golden brown.
  6. Now one by one add onion paste, ginger paste, garlic paste, chilli paste, and fry.
  7. When 1/2done,add tomato pieces and char magaz paste.
  8. Now add salt and slite sugar.
  9. Now add the Spice paste and stirr well in a low flame.
  10. Add curd and mustard paste.
  11. When oil comes out from the mixture add water.
  12. When the water gets boiled, add fishes.
  13. At the end add1 teaspoon of garam masala powder.
