If you want to battle depression, try eating some cold water fish. Salmon, herring, tuna, mackerel, trout, etc, they’re all loaded with omega-3 and DHA. These are two substances that increase the quality and function of the grey matter in your brain. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can really help you fight back depression.
It’s not hard to fight your bad mood when you eat grains. Quinoa, barley, teff, millet, etc are all great for helping you feel happier. They help you feel full too which can actually help to improve your mood. Feeling hungry can be terrible! The reason these grains can improve your mood is that they are easy for your body to digest. You digest these grains faster than other foods which can help promote your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel better, mood wise.
Green tea is actually excellent for your mood. You were just waiting to read that here, weren’t you? Green tea is found to be chock-full of an amino acid referred to as L-theanine. Studies have discovered that this amino acid essentially stimulates brain waves. This helps improve your mental acuity while having a relaxing effect on the rest of your body. You likely already knew how easy it is to be healthy when you consume green tea. Now you are well aware that it helps you to elevate your moods also!
