  1. Get Fried Tofu (Alternatively use white tofu)
  2. Take Minced pork
  3. Prepare Fish (minced)
  4. Take Red chillies
  5. Make ready 1 egg
  6. Make ready 2 tbsp potato starch
  7. Take 1 tsp salts
  8. Make ready Sprinkle White peppr
  9. Take 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  10. Get 2 stalks spring union (white parts) or shallots

Steps to make Hakka Yong Tou Fu (客家釀豆腐):
  1. If you use white tofu, wipe salt on the tofu and leave it for 20 mins to soak up the salty taste, after that rinse them with water so the tofu won't be bland. Skip this step if you use fried tofu.
  2. Mix pork, fish, egg, potato starch, salt, white pepper in a big bowl leave it aside.
  3. Cut the center part of the tofu and chillies and fill the meat in them.
  4. In a large pan, add oil and put the tofu with the meat facing down first. Cook until all sides turn browny. Once cooked, leave them aside for later use.
  5. In a big pot, add oil. In with garlic and shallots. Fry until fragrant, add water just enough to cover the tofu.
  6. Add tofu into the pot and cook for 15 mins.
  7. Add salt to taste
  8. Serve.
