The ingredients needed to make Uttapam (Gurpongal):
  1. Prepare 500 grams arwa chawal
  2. Prepare 500 grams chana dal
  3. Prepare 125 grams chura/flattened rice

It is similar to dosa but slightly thicker than the regular dosas. Uttapam is a very delicious South Indian recipe. Steps to make Uttapam (Gurpongal):
  1. Soak all ingredients in water for 2 to 3 hrs.
  2. Then mix all ingredients in a mixer grinder.
  3. Take out that batter (ghool) from mixer and add salt, onion, green mirch
  4. Then pour the batter into it's stand as in the image
  5. When the uttapam get golden in colour then take it out with the help of wooden stick as in image or you can use spoon also.
  6. Then serve the uttapam with chutney or sambhar.
