The ingredients needed to make Instant Rice Idli:
  1. Get 1/2 cup Flattened Rice (Poha)
  2. Get 2 cups Rice Flour (Store Bought)
  3. Take 1 cup Urad Dal Flour (Store Bought)
  4. Take 1 tsp Fenugreek Seeds Powder
  5. Take 2 tsp Salt
  6. Make ready 1/2 tsp Citric acid
  7. Prepare 1 1/2 tsp Eno (Fruit Salt)
  8. Take 3 cups Water (You may need more)

Instructions to make Instant Rice Idli:
  1. In a mixer, grind poha to it's powdered form. Poha has to be measured after grinding.
  2. In a bowl, mix both the flours, grounded poha, salt and fenugreek seed powder. Mix it well.
  3. Add enough water to make a thick batter. (I used 4 1/2 cups). Add citric acid, eno and mix it well. Batter will become frothy and bubbly.
  4. Heat water in a large pan. Grease idli moulds. Spoon the batter in idli moulds. Cover and steam the idlis for 10 to 12 minutes. Steamed idlis are ready.
  5. Remove from the water pan and let it cool. Run a knife all around the idlis and they will pop out of their moulds. Soft and fluffy idlis. Makes around 50 idlis. Serve with green chutney.
  6. You can freeze this batter in airtight container for future use. Enjoy it with Green Chutney or any spicy curry dish.
