  1. Prepare 1 Cup Kala Chana
  2. Make ready 3 Tomatoes
  3. Get 2 Onions
  4. Prepare 3 Green Chillies
  5. Get 1 table spoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  6. Take 1/2 Table Spoon Desi Ghee
  7. Take 1 Tea Spoon Jeera
  8. Take 1 Pinch Hing
  9. Get Spices
  10. Make ready 2 Tea Spoon Salt
  11. Get 1/2 Tea Spoon Haldi Powder
  12. Get 1 Tea Spoon Amchoor Powder
  13. Get 1 Tea Spoon Anardana Powder

Instructions to make Kala Chana with Onion Tadka:
  1. Wash Chana properly, then soak them in water for 6-8 hours or overnight.
  2. After 6-8 hours, take a pressure cooker add Chana in it with 1 Teaspoon Salt, 2 Cups Water & close the lid.
  3. Now give 2 Whistles on high flame & 4-5 whistles on low flame.
  4. Meanwhile, chop onions very finely & grind tomatoes,Green Chillies,Ginger Garlic Paste finely into purée in a mixer grinder.
  5. After 6-7 whistles, turn off the gas & let the pressure cooker depressurise naturally.
  6. Now take a kadhai, add 1/2 Big Spoon Desi Ghee in it & keep the gas on medium flame.
  7. When ghee gets heated up, add 1 Teaspoon Jeera & 1 Pinch Hing In it & let them sizzle.
  8. When they start sizzling, add finely chopped onions in it & roast them till they turn into golden brown in colour.
  9. After 2-3 minutes, when they are 60-80% cooked, add 1/2 Teaspoon Haldi Powder in it & roast them for 30 seconds.
  10. Now add finely grinded tomato purée in it with 1 Teaspoon Salt so that they start releasing oil quickly.
  11. After 5-6 minutes, when oil is completely released, add spices mix in it & roast them for 2-3 minutes.
  12. After 2-3 minutes, open the lid of cooker & add Masala mixture in it & mix them properly.
  13. Your Kala Chana with Onion Tadka is ready to be served.
