  8. Take 3 Green Chilies Deseeded And Slit
  9. Take 1/2 Tsp Tamarind Paste
  10. Prepare 3 Tbsp Oil
  11. Take 4 Bay Leaves
  12. Get 3-4 Black Cardamoms
  13. Take 1 Tsp Anardana Seeds
  14. Take Cloves 5-6
  15. Get 1 Tsp Dry Mango Powder
  16. Make ready 2 Tbsp Kasuri Methi

Instructions to make Authentic Punjabi Chole(Amritsari Chole):
  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaves, black cardamom, and cloves to the oil.
  2. Sauté them for few seconds. Now add red onions, and sauté for 5 minutes or till they turn golden brown.
  3. Add tomato puree, salt, slit green chilies and red chilli powder. Mix well and cook covered for 5 minutes.
  4. Add chana masala powder, dried mango powder, anardana, sugar, tamarind paste and mix well.
  5. Remove tea bags and add water to the sauce. Mix well, and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add cooked chickpeas, kasuri methi, sliced ginger and mix well. Add some water if needed.Cook covered for 20 minutes on medium-low heat.
  7. Add sliced onions, and mix well. Remove from heat and cover for 5 minutes.
  8. Amritsari chole are ready. Serve with any of your flat bread and enjoy!
