The ingredients needed to make Yakiton:
  1. Make ready 1 kg Pork Belly *skinless
  2. Prepare Salt & Pepper
  3. Prepare Spices & Condiments of your choice *Lime & Jalapeño, Yuzukoshō, Chilli Powder, etc
  4. Get <Additional Vegetable Suggestion>
  5. Get Small Chilli Peppers (*e.g. Shishito, Padrón Peppers)
  6. Take Shiitake & King Oyster Mushrooms
  7. Take Thick Spring Onion
  8. Get <Ginger Sauce>
  9. Take 1/3 cup Soy Sauce
  10. Prepare 1/3 cup Mirin
  11. Make ready 1 tablespoon grated Ginger

Yakiton, for the unitiated, is grilled meat on skewers, but differs from yakitori in that it is largely. Yakiton is kind of grilled pork. Have never tried this place, but the smell from there is always nice. It's full of my old memories.

Steps to make Yakiton:
  1. Soak skewers in a shallow dish of cold water for at least half an hour, then drain.
  2. Cut Pork Belly into bite size pieces and thread onto skewers.
  3. Combine the Ginger Sauce ingredients.
  4. Heat a grill pan, frying pan or barbecue plate. Season half of the skewers with Salt and Pepper, and cook until cooked through.
  5. Cook the rest of skewers, brushing with or dipping in the sauce occasionally until cooked though.
  6. Serve with spices & condiments of your choice. Today I enjoyed them with my ‘Lime & Jalapeño’.

Have never tried this place, but the smell from there is always nice. It's full of my old memories. We are a city in South Dakota.
